چکیده

Most dyes used in various industries are toxic and carcinogenic, thus posing a serious hazard to humans as well the marine ecosystem. Therefore, impact of released into environment has been studied extensively last few years. Heterogeneous photocatalysis proved be an efficient tool for degrading both atmospheric aquatic organic contaminants. It uses sunlight presence semiconductor photocatalyst accelerate remediation environmental contaminants destruction highly molecules. To date, considered one most appealing options wastewater treatment due its great potential high efficiency by using remove pollutants harmful bacteria with aid solid photocatalyst. Among photocatalysts currently used, nanostructured metal oxide semiconductors have among effective. This review paper presents overview recent research improvements on degradation obtained solid-state method. Metal oxides this method exhibited better photocatalytic than other solution methods several cases. The present discusses examples transition oxides—such TiO2, Fe2O3, NiO, ReO3, IrO2, Rh2O3, Rh/RhO2, actinide ThO2—used methylene blue. was found that depends not only bandgap but also morphology. Porous tend higher similar band gap.

Photocatalytic degradation of water pollutant dye by solid state synthesized Ni1-xLnxSb2O6 (Ln=Eu, Gd, Ho and Yb) nanocomposites

Nanostructured Ni1-xLnxSb2O6 (Ln = Eu, Gd, Ho and Yb) powders were synthesized via stoichiometric 1:2 Ni:Sb molar ratio by solid state reaction at 800 ºC for 8 h using Ni(NO3)2, Sb2O3, Eu2O3, Gd2O3 and Ho2O3 raw materials. The synthesized materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Structural analyses were done by FullProf program employing profile matching with constant ...

Optimized Nanostructured TiO2 Photocatalysts

Titania is the most widely studied photocatalyst. In its mixed-phase configuration ( anatase–rutile form) – as manifested in the commercially available P25 Degussa material – titania was previously found to exhibit the best photocatalytic properties reported for the pure system. A great deal of published research by various workers in the field has not fully explained the underlying mechanism f...
